Peanut Genomics and Breeding Team
Principal Investigator: Chen Xiaoping, Research Fellow / Ph.D.
The primary research interests of the team are to (1) collect, conserve and evaluate peanut germplasm using genomic tools; (2) identify genes/ markers and regulatory networks for dissecting traits of interest like pod development, oil quality, and early maturity; (3) develop new excellent peanut varieties using traditional breeding technology together with molecular breeding techniques such as genomic selection and gene editing.
